I fear as this keeps spreading gradually, from the mega city of Lagos to oil home of Port Harcourt, now its the country capital, Abuja. Nigeria just recorded another death case in Asokoro Hospital, Abuja, on Friday. The patient who was suspected to possess symptoms similar to other ebola patient was admitted at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the clinic where blood samples were taken for testing and according to the hospital's secretariat head of public relation, Mr Badaru Yakassai, the result was suppose to be out yesterday,Following the usual procedure, every doctor that had contact with the patient has been tranferred from the hospital for proper surveillance. Also Accident and Emergency Unit where the patient was treated had been relocated temporarily till further notice.
Also, in Port Harcourt another confirmed case of Ebola has been recorded which had brought Ebola figure ti 17 confirmed case and 271 people under surveillance. A doctor in Port Harcourt actually treated one WHO diplomat who escaped in isolation center in Lagos, the doctor was reported to die on Thursday 28th August. Two medical practitioners who attended to the doctor who died in Port Harcourt have aslo shown symptoms of the virus and have been quarantine immediately Now another female patient in the clinic has been reported to have been infected with the disease which made it to be third case in Port Harcourt, though the WHO diplomat escape the wrath of the disease. Currently, 72 people are under surveillance in Lagos, while not less than 199 people are under surveillance in Port Harcourt, as revealed by the Health Minister, Dr Onyebuchi Chukwu.
The proposed Ebola vaccine , produced by GlaxoSmithKline,which was said to be 100% effective on monkey will commence trial today, 2nd September, in Lagos. Hope it turns out good...God Bless Nigeria
