GHANA WONDERFUL INVENTION: MADE-IN-GHANA ENGINELESS CAR (FEED YOUR EYES)

I am always overwhelmed when I see Africa advance technologically. 90% of what is used in Africa came from other continents. This in turn discourages the urge to improve our technology. The westerners are generally known to discover, manufacture, support, and made available any of their inventions, so many years, this has been so. But I get to wonder why Africa is not moving forward. Do we actually need the "white" touches or interventions before our lives can be worthwhile? Africa can really not boast of anything they have manufacture themselves, not even soaps, they are all imported. Our lives can never be better if we don't appreciate and support ourselves. We have heard countries like India and Brazil who were formerly in the "under-develop" status, but look at them today... I believe someday African will open their eyes and see the beauty our lives have to offer us.
Recently, i learnt about Nigeria manufacturing their cars, majorly SUV. It was said to be in sale very soon. Now another bigger technology is on the edge, Ghana has decided to go further by producing a car that really suites African- An engineless car.
Al Jazeera was able to discover the individuals in Gomoa Mpota, in the central part of Ghana. The inventor and the brain behind the whole thing, Dr. Kwadwo Safo, the owner of Katanka Groups of Company, and his son Kwadwo Safo Jnr, a pilot who gained his license at 19, the company's Chief Operating Officer.

The engineless vehicle is said not to depend on combustion engine to move but an electric motor which is powered by rechargeable batteries that can be charged by solar energy or electricity even as one drives on the road. The electric motor converts the solar energy to mechanical energy to power the car. It will be astonishing to hear that everything to produce the car ranging from the moulding parts was made locally except the lights and the tyres. All other were made by local people and surprisingly, most of these people are secondary school leavers between 16-25 ages . The product of this about-to-unveil-commercially company range from commercial vehicles, sports vehicle to pick-up vans.

If you are scared about the price, its durability, whether car crash test has been performed and whether the cars will meet western standard, then you just have to give it a try first. It is noticed that Africans' living standard is low so the price will be affordable to enable middle-class categories benefit from it. It is made for Africans by Africans, so every loopholes have been taken into consideration and covered. Abou the car crash test, it will be done in the course of producing the vehicle. In this kind of project, I expect Ghanaian government to give their full support to this. It is to the glory of the country and Africa at large.
I will urge us all to give this new invention a trial, support and trust as it is for our convenience. Let's appreciate our things first before others will appreciate by stealing it from us.
Kwandwo Jnr
