GERMANY SCORED THE ONLY GOAL TO WIN U-20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

It is sad news that Nigeria lost the U-20 world cup title to Germany on Sunday 24th August. The match which ended goal at 90 minute brought a surprise when  Germans made a breakthrough at the 8th minute of the extra time.
Nigeria seemed to had been playing a fantastic game right from the beginning where crosses and risky shot were loaded into the Germans penalty area but none could convert to a goal. Nigerians had a goal chance in 85th minute when Asisat Oshoala headed the ball into the net but was counted as offside.
This Germany's victory marks her third, first and second were in 2004 and 2010 respectively. It is noted that Nigeria has been performing outstandingly since the beginning of the tournament as the Germany's winning goal made it the third goal that would be conceded by Nigeria goalkeeper, Sandra Chiichii and this made the 17th Germany's goal in the tournament. This loss is the 2nd Nigeria will record in this game, the first was also lost to Germany in 2010.
Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala won the golden ball as the best player and the golden boot as the highest goal scorer, with 7 goals. Sliver ball was awarded to France midfielder, Mbock Batty while another french, Clair Lavogez won the bronze ball. German goalkeeper, Meike Kampa, won the golden glove and Canada won the Fair Play award.
Congrats to Germany and better luck next time to Nigeria. i am sure the jinx will be broken some day... *smiles*
