Recall that Egypt earlier intervened in the Israeli-Palestinian crisis urging them to cease fire but Israel still went on attacking, killing people and destroying property. As if that was not enough, Pope Francis also stood up urging them to do the same thing, spoke to both presidents on phone, but still all prove abortive.
Now it has been reported that not less than 13 Israeli soldier have been killed across Gaza strip which is making a total of 18 in two(2) days. In an incident in Tufah neighbourhood north of Shujaiyeh, Golani troops fell into an ambush in which a Rocket Propelled Grenade(RPG) was fired at them killing 7 and two were seriously injured. In another incident, 3 soldiers were killed ,3 other soldiers were killed in another nearby gun battle. another incident happened in Shujaiyeh where anti-tank rocket was fired at a building killing 3 and several injured. However,it was reported that up to 130 Palestinian soldier have been killed since the start of this crisis, in which 60 of them died overnight Saturday-Sunday.
So far, army has found 36 shafts leading into tunnels of which 14 tunnels were still intact. The troops are working tirelessly to destroy this tunnels.
