Good News for the World !! It has just been reported that the number of deaths caused by HIV and number of people getting infected globally has really reduced by a very large number, up to 33%, comparing it with the previous years (UN,2014) which shows a possibility of wiping out the deadly disease that has claimed many lives. Despite the fact that currently, from statistics, the number of people living with HIV is about 35 million, UN still believe the epidemic could be put to an end. reviewing the release ahead of the 5-day 20th International AIDS conference in Australia that is coming up on July 20-25, it was reported that AIDS-related deaths dropped to 1.5 million compared to 1.7 million in 2013 which marks that steepest reduction in HIV history. also, new infection delined to 2.7 million in 2013, which marks a fall of 38% compared to 3.4 million in 2001.
Africa still remains the continent with the highest number of people with HIV, bagging up to 1.1 million deaths in 2013, 1.5 million new infection and 24.7 million in total living with HIV. Globally, South Africa remains the country with the highest number of people with HIV, while Nigeria comes next.
Many diseases present in this decade where Africa seem to suffer most of them. apart from HIV, there is still cancer and the deadliest,Ebola claiming many lives in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. I am sure people's hands are still on deck to find a lasting end to all theses Immuno Deficiencies. May God take control....
