Owing to the pandemic effect of the deadly HIV virus to the world, many researchers have kept the hands on desk and for many years, permanent killing of this virus is yet to be found. The Australian Bio-tech firm, Starpharma, has come out with the newest technology to get rid of the HIV virus using the newly designed "VivaGel" condom which is found to be 99.9% effective in killing the HIV virus. It benefit is not limited to that only, it is also effective in deactivating cases of Herpes and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) cases. Gaining approval by the Australian therapeutic Goods Administration, the condom is hope to be available for sale in months time. The VivaGel condom contains 0.5% astodrimal sodium- a non-antibiotic,antimicrobial drug designed to fight against HIV virus. It is however hoped that this new technology will drastically help to reduce the infection and transmission of the disease and eventually reduce death cases.
Aren't you happy? At least this is a big step forward by the Australians to solving one of the world's biggest problems but my concern is how much will it cost? Will it be subsidized for Africans who live below UN standard of living? The world can wait to receive this...
