NIGERIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WANTS TO CREATE ABOUT 1.8 MILLION JOBS ANNUALLY, HOW REALISTIC?

Mr Olusegun Aganga,The Minister of Trade and Investment, stressed that the Federal Government(FG) is keen to provide up to 1.8 million jobs to control unemployment in Nigeria. he said this today at the inauguration of the Late MKO Abiola's wife , Mrs Doyin Abiola's printing press firm. The minister said that the FG has attracted investment worth $14 billion and up to $9 billion will dwell in Lagos state, the most developed and populous city in the country.
Also in the inauguration was the governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola who directed his speech towards encouraging locally-made goods as its another way of creating employment in the country. He also stressed that there is also a substantial need to improve the power supply nationally to attract foreign investors and also to encourage the local industries.
It is clear that Nigerians know the truth but will not just live by it. words only will not solve the problem but act. After this inauguration, I hope the government at large will mount proactive measures towards improving the loving standard of Nigerian citizens.
